Which link you are shown

Most products here can be bought from more than one place, and those retailers pay different commission rates for the identical item. When that is the case we link to whichever available offer has the highest expected commission. We think stating that plainly is better than the usual formulation, which implies links are chosen purely for the reader's benefit.

What this does not affect is what we tell you about the product. The commission rate, the network and the existence of an offer are not inputs to any score or any ranking position. Those are computed by a separate function that never receives the offer data at all - see methodology for the full formula.

What we do not do

No brand has paid for placement, inclusion, a review or a score on this site, and there is no arrangement under which they could. We do not accept sponsored posts, paid guest articles or link insertions. We do not remove critical assessments in exchange for commercial terms.

Machines we cannot monetise at all - industrial manufacturers who sell by quotation, and brands that sell direct without a programme - are included anyway, because leaving them out would distort the comparison.

Prices shown are observations recorded by our daily refresh, not live quotes, and the price at the retailer is always the one that applies. Anything we have not confirmed recently is labelled as such rather than presented as current.
