Avid CNC
Oregon maker of configurable CNC router kits - the Benchtop PRO and larger PRO series - sold as component systems a buyer assembles and specifies rather than as a single boxed machine.
Several of the best-known names in desktop CNC are the same company. Genmitsu is SainSmart's CNC brand; Shapeoko is made by Carbide 3D. Knowing who actually builds and supports a machine matters more than the badge on the gantry when something goes wrong.
Each brand page collects what that manufacturer actually publishes: the machines we track from them, how much of the specification sheet they disclose, how they sell, and what tooling of theirs fits what. The most useful thing on most of these pages is the disclosure habit. Two brands can look similar on a comparison table while one publishes every figure our model asks for and the other leaves half of them blank - and the second brand's scores are correspondingly less certain, which we surface rather than hide.
Brand depth varies for a reason worth stating plainly. A brand that sells desktop machines through marketplaces, publishes full specifications and offers its own tooling line gives us a great deal to work with. An industrial manufacturer that quotes each installation individually gives us almost nothing comparable, and we would rather have a short honest page than a long padded one. Where we track only a model or two from a maker, that is usually what the maker publishes, not a judgement on the machines.

Aggressive on mechanical specification for the money - ball screws and profile rails at prices where competitors ship belts. Often sells the motion platform without a spindle.
SainSmart's CNC brand, and the volume leader in desktop machines. Runs its own affiliate programme at a materially better rate than the Amazon listings for the same hardware.
Chicago maker of the X-Carve line and the Easel software that drives it. The current X-Carve Pro is a ball-screw machine with a VFD spindle, sold direct in two sizes.
