Spindle & cutting power
710 W puts the trim router in the middle of the desktop range: enough to take a confident pass in hardwood without stalling, and enough to reach into aluminium if you keep the depth shallow and the chip load up. This is the band where technique starts to matter more than the rating - the motor will not save a bad feed, but it will not be the first thing to give out either. Expect to run it near its ceiling in dense hardwood and to back off depth rather than feed when it labours.
Note that this is a trim router rather than a VFD spindle. It gives you the most power per dollar and a high speed ceiling, but it runs louder, has no feedback to hold its speed as the load rises, and cannot be started, stopped or ramped by G-code - you set the dial and the controller has no idea what the cutter is actually doing. For a hobby shop that is a reasonable trade; for lights-out or automated work it is the wrong tool.
