Genmitsu is the CNC-facing brand of SainSmart rather than a separate manufacturer, which matters more than it sounds: support, firmware and replacement parts all come through the parent, and so does the quality of the documentation you will be relying on when a job fails. They sit in the unusual position of selling both the machines and the tooling that goes in them, so the accessories are at least designed against a known collet and a known spindle - which is not true of most tooling you can buy for these machines.
The range spans genuinely different tiers rather than variations on one machine. At the bottom sits an entry platform aimed at learning; at the top, a machine whose specification is trying to compete with equipment costing several times more. The step between them is not linear - most of the money buys drive quality and rigidity rather than bed size, which is the opposite of what most buyers assume when they compare on work area.
In practical terms the line runs from 290 × 180 mm up to 400 × 400 mm. That bottom end is a machine for signs, inlays and learning; the top end starts to make useful pieces of a full sheet viable. If your work sits over about 400mm in either axis, most of this range is ruled out before any other specification matters.
Genmitsu publishes most of what our model asks for - 79% of the scoring weight applies on average - but not all of it. The usual omission is the drive type: manufacturers will name a stepper size while staying silent on whether it is closed-loop, which is precisely the figure that decides whether the machine can detect a lost step. Where that is missing we exclude the component rather than assume the worse answer, so the scores here are mildly generous by construction.

Their tooling matches 6 of the 23 machines we track. The ones it does not fit are excluded on collet size rather than quality - a 1/4-inch shank simply will not enter a spindle collet sized for 1/8-inch, and no adapter runs the wrong way.
Their tooling spans both common shank sizes, 1/8-inch and 1/4-inch, and the distinction is worth getting right before ordering: a 1/4-inch shank is meaningfully stiffer and deflects less on a deep pass, but it only fits a machine whose collet accepts it. Buying the wrong shank is the most common ordering mistake in this category and the collet, not the bit, is what determines the answer.
Collets follow the ER11 standard, which is the common fitment across the desktop range. Worth remembering that collets are consumables rather than fittings: they lose their grip long before they look worn, and a tired collet letting a bit creep downward mid-cut is a failure that looks exactly like a Z-axis problem.
